Odd / Even Parking Program

In an effort to serve the residents better, odd/even parking regulations are in effect in two select neighborhoods - Gifford/Summit Park and a portion of the Southwest Area Neighborhood.

On May 13, 2009, the City Council voted in favor of expanding these regulations year round and requested that staff present a phased approach to gradually add additional neighborhoods in the leaf rake out area to the odd/even program.

The intent of the odd/even parking regulations is to create the conditions to provide predictable, effective and efficient public works services to our neighborhoods in the areas of street sweeping, leaf pick up and snow removal. To meet that goal, it is imperative that we remove the biggest obstacle on the street - the parked car.

The odd/even parking regulations require that car owners either:

  1. Park on home driveways or in garages OR

  2. When parking on the street:

    a. Park on the side of the street with home addresses ending in an odd number (one, three, five, seven, or nine) on odd numbered days (first, third, fifth, etc.) AND

    b. Park on the side of the street with home addresses ending in an even number (zero, two, four, six, or eight) on even numbered days (second, fourth, sixth, etc.)

The parking regulations are in effect from 2 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Saturday.

A $50 citation will be issued to those not in compliance.
